- Tires supported operation of driver assistance systems
- Test editorial teams provide many recommendations for Continental winter tires
Continental offers winter tires for almost all cars. The Continental WinterContact TS 850 P is once again at the starting line for more powerful cars, while the ContiWinterContact TS 850 is designed for mid-range vehicles. Both models boosted the effectiveness of control interventions from driver assistance systems. The ContiWinterContact TS 800 has proved to be a great performer on vehicles from the compact class. With the ContiWinterContact TS 830 P, the market leader offers additional sizes for particularly sporty cars. In tests conducted by the trade press, winter tires from Continental received the highest ratings or were rated "highly recommended." Thanks to the wide range of sizes, nearly all vehicles delivered in Europe can be fitted with winter tires produced by the market leader. For this purpose, winter tires are manufactured for rims of between 13 and 22 inches in diameter. In addition, all winter tires from Continental bear the snowflake symbol for M+S designation.
New Continental WinterContact TS 850 P
The new Continental WinterContact TS 850 P will enter the sales rooms of specialist retailers in fall. With the new model, the developers of the leading winter tire manufacturer have succeeded in significantly enhancing the performance characteristics of a product. This way, the Continental WinterContact TS 850 P betters the performance of its predecessor model in terms of handling on snow-covered and dry roads as well as braking. This is made possible by the new tread design of the asymmetrical winter tire for the upper mid-range and luxury segments and SUVs. Starting in the coming season, the Continental WinterContact TS 850 P will gradually replace its predecessors - the ContiWinterContact TS 830 P and the ContiCrossContact Winter - together with its "big brother" the Continental WinterContact TS 850 P SUV. However, both of these models will still be available in a wide range of sizes. The market leader for winter tires will offer the new product at the same price level as the predecessor models. Tires for rims of between 16 and 20 inches in diameter are manufactured.
ContiWinterContact TS 830 P: safety for fast cars and sports cars
The tried-and-tested ContiWinterContact TS 830 P is still available in a wide product range with many approvals from leading vehicle manufacturers. It offers safe driving properties under all wintry road conditions as well as precise handling on dry and wet roads. The winter tire is available in some sizes as an SSR model with emergency running properties.
ContiWinterContact TS 850: specialist for compact and lower mid-range segments
In the test reports published by the trade publications last fall, the ContiWinterContact TS 850 came out on top and was highly recommended by specialist magazines in a number of cases. Its directional tread has been designed to offer a high level of grip to ensure safe interlocking with snow and ice. The new winter tire from Continental also offers a high degree of safety on dry and wet roads. In addition, the tire structure has been further developed to reduce rolling resistance even further. The product range for the high-volume model will be further expanded this winter. Continental manufactures tires for rims of between 14 and 17 inches in diameter.
Specialist for compact cars: ContiWinterContact TS 800
With the tried-and-tested ContiWinterContact TS 800, the Continental range now boasts a safe winter tire for the mini and small vehicle segments. With outstanding handling and short braking distances on wet, snow-covered, or icy roads, the new tire is a real all-round winter performer for cars such as the Skoda Fabia, VW Polo, Ford Fiesta, and Opel Corsa. The tire delivers a wide margin of safety, which is due primarily to the further development of the tried-and-tested honeycomb siping in combination with a V-shaped groove structure and an innovative compound concept. In the tests conducted by ADAC, Stiftung Warentest, ÖAMTC, and TCS, the tire for compact class vehicles took first place and was awarded the top rating of "highly recommended." The winter tire for compact vehicles is produced for rims of between 13 and 15 inches in diameter.
