The new ContiTech auxiliary drive kits contain a V-ribbed belt and tensioner of original equipment quality. Dealers and garages will be able to order them in the fall. With about 100 complete packages, the drive component specialist covers a large majority of the most common applications.
ContiTech recommends also changing the tensioner when changing the V-ribbed belt. "The tensioner is a wear part that fatigues during its lifetime," explains Markus Pirsch, head of Marketing Service Automotive Aftermarket at the ContiTech Power Transmission Group. "If the V-ribbed belt pops off because the tension is too weak, there can be extensive damage. Especially if it gets into the timing belt drive." Changing both components at the same time ensures greater safety for the engine. The tensioner in the kit is of ContiTech quality. Customers will benefit from the drive specialist's extensive range of services and expertise, and receive everything from a single source.
New timing belt kits with water pump
Moreover, the ContiTech Power Transmission Group now offers 13 additional timing belt kits complete with water pumps. The new, complete packages cover even more vehicles in the European aftermarket. The current additions include many popular vehicle models of all performance classes, from semis to subcompacts. The new kits are already available.
The water pumps are also of ContiTech quality. Thanks to their slip ring seal made of hard carbon and silicon carbide, the components hold especially tight, even with the strongest pressure and at high temperatures. The toothed lock washer made of sintered metal has a precisely formed tooth profile that allows optimal engagement of the belt. This prevents timing belt wear. Besides the timing belts and water pump, the kits also contain rollers and small parts of original equipment quality. The components are matched to each other exactly, for greater safety and easy handling at the workshop.
