ContiTech Know-how macht Autos wartungsarm. Jüngstes Beispiel ist der neue Kleinwagen up! von Volkswagen. Erstmals kommt darin ein völlig neuartiges Antriebssystem für den Nebenaggregatetrieb zum Einsatz. Es besteht aus einem von ContiTech speziell für Volkswagen entwickelten Elastic Plus-Keilrippenriemen und einem einfach zu montierenden Exzenterspanner mit einer Spannrolle, die vom ContiTech Systempartner Schaeffler entwickelt wurde. Alle Komponenten sind auf Motorlebensdauer ausgelegt, dadurch bleibt die Spannung über die gesamte Nutzungsdauer des Fahrzeugs konstant.
"Unsere elastischen Keilrippenriemen bewähren sich in vielen Fahrzeugen von BMW, Daimler und Volkswagen. Mit dieser Ausführung haben wir eine neue Leistungsklasse erreicht", sagt Dr. Klaus Schütte, Leiter Sales, Key Accounting and Application Engineering bei der ContiTech Power Transmission Group. Das Unternehmen erwartet eine stark steigende Nachfrage nach elastischen Keilrippenriemen, weil sie herkömmliche Spannsysteme überflüssig machen und dadurch den Trend zum Leichtbau unterstützen.
Das Antriebssystem ist nicht die einzige ContiTech Entwicklung für den up!: Ein Zahnriemen treibt die Nockenwelle an, Stoßdämpferlager sorgen für Fahrkomfort, Membranen regeln den Kraftstofffluss und das Oberflächenmaterial Acella® verbessert den Sitzkomfort und das Innenraumklima, weil es nach Öko-Tex®-Standard zertifiziert ist.
