The new generation of SCR lines already conforms to Euro 6 and EPA 10 standards and features heated quick connectors with optimized contacting performance. The spiraled heating conductor and the bare crimped areas are coated directly for permanent protection from external influences such as salt water and other media. The quick connectors are heated by recently developed plug-on heating sleeves. Two-part injection-molded plug connections allow numerous different options, making ContiTech well prepared for all orders to come. On the hoses, a durable EPDM cover combined with a butyl inner lining ensures better impermeability. ContiTech has also developed a plastic variant for SCR systems with retractive suction.
Selective catalytic reduction technology (SCR) is employed in diesel engines to transform harmful nitrogen oxide into steam and nitrogen with the help of a urea solution. Heating of the SCR lines prevents the urea solution from freezing in low temperatures.
Automotive engineers demand that high-performance charge-air hoses and lines be up to withstanding ever higher pressure and temperature levels to realize their goal of marketing more compact, lighter-weight, yet higher-torqued and more fuel-efficient engines. ContiTech Fluid Technology develops and produces solutions that meet the most exacting performance requirements while coping with tricky clearances. It has a wide range of elastomer products for these applications.
