Looking forward to a successful 2021, AB InBev is set to keep evolving and improving processes. As a field leader, it’s determined to set the tone of the entire industry by embracing the Industry 4.0 vision of smart and effective production (in cost, resource optimization and advanced monitoring). Embedding IO-Link Wireless technology into its production will allow greater agility, flexibility and modularity, which were not feasible before in rapidly moving and rotating machine components that require real-time control and monitoring, such as conveying and transport track systems.
As part of its innovation initiatives, AB InBev is harnessing the IO-Link Wireless technology for adaptive manufacturing. This is targeted at addressing the broad range of varying customer demands, and also creating much more flexible production lines that can address a variety of products with minimal setup times and minimal cost for changes.
CoreTigo is focused on addressing the true need for factory automation wireless connectivity that simply cannot be met today by existing wireless networks. Wired communication is not feasible for many motion control solutions, cables lead to maintenance and unplanned downtime, and in addition, cabled solutions cannot reach the full flexibility and agility required for many automation solutions. IO-Link Wireless is designed to meet these harsh industrial demands for low latency, real-time control, cable-grade reliability and scalability.
AB InBev’s and CoreTigo’s collaboration is an integral part of designing more flexible machine concepts that can address mass customization requirements, smaller batches, increased productivity, reduced footprint and reduced machine complexity.
