2014 was a successful year for CORONIC. The company's important product range which includes various security solutions for banks has significantly surpassed the 1 million Euro turnover milestone for the first time ever. The main driver of success in this segment was the hardened PROTECT browser. Most banks use the secure browser to protect users against phishing and Trojans, as well as to increase their online quotas and reduce their offline costs. "Over the past year, cost-cutting for banks in the area of transfer forms and terminals (ATMs) thanks to PROTECT has increased our client base significantly", says Frank Bock, Managing Director at CORONIC. PROTECT is not only used as a simple security tool anymore. Many banks today see the secure browser as an efficient instrument to optimise processes and cut costs.
CORONIC's latest innovation is a mobile app for monetary transactions: SIGN, the signature-based smartphone app. Thanks to SIGN, texting TANs for online transfers is no longer required. At the moment, 4 banks are using the new CORONIC transaction process for online banking. In addition, the SIGN technology permits the direct transfer of money between mobile phones. "We are confident that we will also awaken interest in banks for this product during the upcoming year", says Mr Bock.
But CORONIC's success is not only the result of its security products. In the traditional software development segment too, CORONIC has attracted new clients. Currently, the compa-ny is developing a tailored software solution for a leading printing machine manufacturer, representing a total volume of over two man years. "Securely linking complex business processes in the industry with modern internet technology is our second pillar", explains Andreas Harder, the company's second Managing Director and head of this branch. Overall, in 2014, CORONIC closed the year with a convincing six-digit annual profit and thanks to its new security products, the company is optimistic about 2015.
