GS-EPI gains advanced visualization and production control with cmNavigo MES

Details on selection and implementation are available in a new case study, “MES to standardize wafer epitaxial operations. GS-EPI builds a foundation for growth.”

(PresseBox) (Dresden, )
Nanjing Guosheng Electronic Co. Ltd. (GS-EPI) has implemented Critical Manufacturing's cmNavigo MES in April 2015. This was a result of their major customers' demand, who requested that GS-EPI have a Manufacturing Execution System in place to manage their production processes and control quality.

GS-EPI manufactures silicon epitaxial wafers for their semiconductor customers, and as the production volume grows, managing flows in the old fashioned way turned out to be insufficient. Manual data collection and recording data in Excel were replaced by complete automated data collection and standardized production flows. As a result of eliminating paper and modelling production in MES, GS-EPI gained real-time visibility of operation with a single production data source and achieved full WIP traceability.

"It was a really big challenge to select an MES because there are so many MES vendors in China, all claiming to have every feature", says Yu Chen, MES Project Manager. "After visiting customers and seeing their implementations, we were convinced Critical Manufacturing had top customers in China and a great MES product. Now we are using it and have automated data collection, more standard production flows, and the ability to see all of our equipment statuses in the same picture."

The decision to implement MES in their production facility was followed by thorough selection process, where three qualified MES providers were evaluated in detail. Critical Manufacturing had the necessary level of experience. Since the system has been in place, GS-EPI has seen significant benefits to its production, mainly in the data collection process and traceability of wafer WIP.

More details on selection and implementation process are available in a new case study from IYNO Advisors, titled "MES to standardize wafer epitaxial operations. GS-EPI builds a foundation for growth" To download the document please visit our homepage http://goo.gl/aO61cw
