The preparation for the requirements of the ESRS, which will apply to the CRONIMET Group from the 2025 reporting year, was essential for the reporting. “It is important to us to report transparently and comprehensively on our activities and to share with our stakeholders how we are continuously improving for sustainability in all its dimensions,” says Jürgen Pilarsky, majority shareholder and CEO.
In 2023, CRONIMET has further developed its group-wide climate strategy and, for the first time, mapped its Scope 3 CO2 emissions. The group joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and committed to meeting the SBTi's science-based net-zero standards. A key goal of the climate strategy is therefore to reduce directly caused CO2 emissions by 2030.
“We intend to be a driving force in the sustainable transformation of the stainless steel industry. Our ambition is to reduce the emissions from our operations to zero by 2030. As this goal is restricted by state-of-the-art technical possibilities, we will cooperate with our partners along the value chain to push these limits of feasibility,” explains CEO Jürgen Pilarsky.
The CRONIMET Group has again strengthened its governance structure. It launched a project to anticipate its compliance to future EU key regulatory requirements, such as the CSDDD. CRONIMET strictly expects its suppliers to follow the CRONIMET policies and commitments to respect human rights. For the family-owned company close cooperation and constructive dialog with customers and suppliers to jointly develop solutions are essential for implementing the sustainability goals.
The sustainability report is available on the CRONIMET Group website in English.
