Auf Basis ihres Viiv-PCs können Anwender ein drahtloses Heimnetzwerk aufbauen,über das sie beispielsweise auf dem Flatscreen im Wohnzimmer das WM-Eröffnungsspiel oder den neuesten Film schauen, während der Ehepartner im Nebenzimmer die Urlaubsbilder vorführt und die Kinder im Spielzimmer Musik hören.
Intel Viiv-PCs von Dell umfassen unter anderem folgende technologischen Standards: Intel-Chipsatz, einen Intel Pentium D Dual-Core-Prozessor oder einen Intel Pentium Extreme Edition-Prozessor, das Microsoft-Betriebssystem Windows Media Center Edition und Native Command Queuing (NCQ)-Festplatte.
