Both companies will combine their vast experience in power electronics to develop outstanding central inverters for their customers. The cooperation includes a diversification of their product portfolios and the setup of a production plant with a capacity of 1 GW at the Delta location in Los Angeles. It is planned to produce central inverters from 38 kW up to 1 MW output power.
The central inverter line is based on LTI's PVmaster series that is already successfully introduced in the European and Asian markets. Delta will bring to the partnership its decade-long experience in the development and production of UL approved products. Production of the first UL approved central inverters will be in the second quarter 2011.
Delta will show a first prototype of the new UL central inverter line at the Solar Power International tradeshow in Los Angeles, October 12-14, 2010, booth 1609.
