Für den diesjährigen CeBIT-Song, der während der Eröffnung live aufgeführt wird, zeichnet in diesem Jahr Popstar Mousse T. verantwortlich. Gemeinsam mit Emma Lanford wird er den Song präsentieren.
Themen der Eröffnungsveranstaltung sind die CeBIT-Schlüsselthemen: "Internationalität", "Communication/Networks", "Digital Living" und "Business". In einer aufwändigen Inszenierung werden diese Schlüsselbegriffe erlebbar und stimmen auf den Messebesuch ein.
Einen Höhepunkt verspricht auch der Auftritt des Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Sergey Naryshkin, auf der diesjährigen Eröffnungsfeier. Mit seinem Beitrag zur Inszenierung will Russland zeigen, dass es in der ICT-Technologie weltweit an der Spitze steht.
Kennzeichen der diesjährigen Veranstaltung ist auch die hohe Anzahl internationaler Prominenz aus Wirtschaft und Politik. Im Rahmen der deutschen EU-Ratspräsidentschaft werden auf Einladung von Bundeswirtschaftsminister Michael Glos rund 18 Minister aus den EU-Staaten an der Eröffnungsveranstalung teilnehmen. Darüber hinaus haben Spitzenvertreter der großen internationalen Telekommunikations- und IT-Unternehmen und hochrangige Politiker aus der ganzen Welt ihr Kommen angekündigt.
