Elektrische Antriebe in Maschinen müssen nicht immer nur die benötigte Leistung, Drehzahl und Drehmoment zur Verfügung stellen. Drehzahlüberwachung oder eine sogenannte Stillstandsüberwachung sind Attribute, die oftmals die Maschinensteuerung, auch im Hinblick auf die Sicherheit von Mensch und Maschine, benötigt.
Es gilt zu unterscheiden zwischen einer reinen Überwachung, die nur eine Aussage über Drehbewegung oder Stillstand machen kann, oder einer Ausführung mit etwaiger Drehzahlangabe und/oder einer exakten Positionsermittlung des sich drehenden Bauteils.
Dietz-motoren realisiert dies mittels einem oder mehrerer induktiver Sensoren in Verbindung mit einer Inkrementalscheibe, oder aber mittels eines Resolvers, welcher innerhalb einer Motorumdrehung die absolute Winkelposition der Motorwelle sowie die Drehzahl ermitteln kann. Die induktiven Sensoren sind unempfindlich gegen Staub, Feuchtigkeit und gegen Vibration – was ein wichtiger Aspekt ist, da Dietz-motoren auf kundenspezifische Anforderungen wie z.B. Schutzarten eingeht und maßgeschneiderte Antriebslösungen entwickelt.
