Digitaltest brings Fast, Flexible Test and Production Solutions to Apex, 20th - 22nd February 2007 at Los Angeles Convention Center, Booth 2937

(PresseBox) (Stutensee-Blankenloch, )
center stage at Booth 2937 at this year’s Apex exhibition will be a comprehensive range of innovative software and hardware test technologies. All the latest developments in Flying Probe, In-Line and In-Circuit testing will be on show, once again underscoring Digitaltest’s leadership in the supply of advanced test solutions to the global electronics manufacturing industry.

With unique drive technology, linear motors, and closed-loop technology, Digitaltest’s second generation Flying Prober Condor MTS-500 is 30% faster than previous models while assuring high accuracy in fine pitch applications. New options include Digitaltest’s proprietary ‘Soft Landing’ technology, guaranteeing damage-free testing of even the most delicate high-density boards as well as integrated boundary-scan.

Digitaltest’s brand new, fully automated Falcon In-Line test system is debuting at Apex. Specially designed for high volume production, this compact, SMEMA standard MDA and ICT& Functional Test system offers high-speed fixture change for high mix applications - all for an unbeatable price.

Flexibility, high fault coverage and easy programming are key to successful modern manufacturing test. Digitaltest has accordingly developed its latest MTS 300 SIGMA In-Circuit Tester, featuring a brand new ergonomic design with a 20° diagonal angle, easy-to-change adaptors and boards, and new high-speed hybrid boards. The system’s modular design, together with its comprehensive range of easily interchangeable test methods and pin configurations, allows manufacturers to optimize their test configuration for current needs and expand this as requirements change.

With its capacity for 1,000 measurements/sec, this is one of the industry’s fastest test systems, making it ideal for high volume applications. Furthermore, thanks to its non-multiplexed structure, the MTS300 behaves as a ‘neutral platform’ that can emulate existing test programs and fixtures from numerous well-known platforms. Considering that users of ATE equipment designed in the 1970s and 1980s are now facing obsolescence and field service support issues with their older systems, this makes the MTS300 extremely valuable. A new converter to be launched at Apex is set to make it even more so, by rendering migration from these legacy testers easier, saving users precious time and money while protecting their past investments.

The MTS300 can be integrated into a handling system that can accommodate the tester rack plus IEEE or VXI instruments, and now, a PXI rack is included to allow the system to be tailored for the demands of virtually any application.

A new one-touch fixture effectively reduces fixture costs and changeover times still further on Digitaltest’s economical high volume MTS 180 In-Circuit Tester. This is thanks to an innovative Press Down Unit and a combination of analog and hybrid in-circuit test pins that allow even highly complex fixtures to be created at a cost far below that of vacuum fixtures. The system can also be equipped with functional test modules to provide higher fault coverage.

And on the software side - our highlights for Apex:

C-LINK DTM
The new C-LINK DTM Software- Linking design to test and production greatly reduces time to market, cuts costs, improves production quality and improves profitability. C-LINK DTM enables the user to introduce new products within the shortest time possible. The new C-LINK DTM "Compare Boards" function provides valuable services for quickly stating the required modification overhead in the test program. In addition to that, the "Redesign" feature of C-LINK generates a report that verifies if the new board version can be tested on an existing fixture.

Quality Management Software QMAN
"Digitaltest’s new version of Quality Management Software or QMAN is designed to link production problems to the various production stages, so that the user can fix the process and avoid these problems. The new release of QMAN Paperless Repair and Quality Data Management Software is now built on an SQL database platform. It provides an integrated environment for all of the modules like Repair Workstation, Reporting Tool, Trend Alarm, Maintenance and Configuration. Dialogs have been improved, giving operators and administration a more detailed overview and making handling easier. Reporting for Quality Management has been improved by integration of statistics and graphs in one HTML-based document that can now be included in management reports.
