Digitaltest's leadership in the supply of advanced test solutions will be on display during Apex 2009 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, featuring a comprehensive suite of innovative software and hardware test technologies for electronics manufacturing.
MTS500 Condor II Flying Probe Tester
With unique drive technology, linear motors, and closed-loop technology, Digitaltest's second generation Flying Prober Condor MTS-500 can probe targets as small as 100um. With test speeds of up to 40 tests per second, Condor can fill both prototype and production test requirements. The measurement hardware can process up to 1,000 measurements per second. Measurement of pico farads and mega Ohms is possible with the Condor's unique Active Head Technology. Options include Digitaltest's proprietary 'Soft Landing' technology, guaranteeing trace-free testing of even the most delicate high-density boards as well as integrated boundary-scan. We will also demonstrate the economical new Front Loader solution, a perfect shuttle concept with easy front board loading. With optional Digitizer software, testing boards with no CAD or information becomes possible using Condor.
MTS 300 SIGMA In-Circuit Tester- ideal for High Volume Applications
This system has been designed by Digitaltest to address the key demands of modern manufacturing test - flexibility, high fault coverage and easy programming. Flexibility is guaranteed by the combination of its modular design and its comprehensive range of test methods. This modular design allows the MTS300 SIGMA to be optimally configured for current needs without limiting the possibilities of future expansion. Future changes to individual test methods, as well as to the configuration of test pins, can be easily performed with the MTS300 SIGMA. The range of test techniques incorporates analog and digital in-circuit test capabilities, vectorless testing, functional test, boundary-scan (optional) and on-board programming. The system is also one of the fastest machines on the market - its capacity for 1000 measurements/sec making it ideal for high volume applications.
A real success story for Digitaltest Inc throughout 2008 especially in the US:
- The Migration Program- the answer to legacy equipment obsolescence
Customers still using ATE equipment designed in the 1970's and 1980's are now facing problems with part obsolescence issues and field service support for those outdated systems. The MTS300 presents a method to overcome these problems without wasting any previous investment. Digitaltest has a invested substantially in creating migration tools necessary to take old programs and fixtures from major ATE companies and migrate them to our state-of-the-art test platform.
Due to the non-multiplexed system structure, our MTS300 test system is able to emulate existing test programs and fixtures from other platforms like GenRad, Teradyne and Agilent etc. Our ability to exchange programs and fixtures with other test manufacturers' systems effectively makes the MTS300 a 'neutral platform', which saves both time and money.
MTS 180 In-Circuit Tester with New One-Touch Fixture - The Production Workhorse
At Apex we will be the showing the one-touch fixture for the MTS 180, developed by Digitaltest in order to reduce the handling time for fixture exchange. The MTS 180 is Digitaltest's economical solution for high volume production.
Equipped with a Press Down Unit and a combination of analog and hybrid in-circuit test pins, the MTS180 occupies a unique place in the market. Furthermore, the tester can be equipped with functional test modules to provide higher fault coverage and satisfy the test requirements of a vast number of customers. The economics of the tester are not limited to the initial cost. For example, the press-down fixturing solution dramatically reduces the costs of test fixtures. Users can create the most complex fixtures with features such as double-sided board access, OpensCheck probes from both sides, etc. - all at a cost that is far below that of vacuum Fixtures.
Second Focal Point - Live Software Presentations at the show! Digitaltest will also be demonstrating its 'one-stop'- software solution approach:
CLINK
Introduced in 1985, C-LINK was the first product to link CAD, test, repair and production in a single platform.
C-LINK DTM greatly reduces time to market, cuts costs and improves production quality and profitability by linking design to test and production.
QMAN
QMAN is Quality Management software that processes test data from the production floor to be used for assessing the efficiency of the production process, creation of reports and generation of alerts.
Digitaltest is also launching its brand new, versatile QMAN data entry station IRWS
The new IRWS station (Inspection and Repair Work Station) is suitable for data entry at visual inspection workstations. A checklist can be provided which must be completed by the operator to confirm that the visual inspection has been carried out.
The data entry station can also operate at functional test stations where it is often quite difficult to interface functional test results with quality management systems. The IRWS station provides highly flexible support where Functional test parameters can be entered and pass/fail test results can be written into the quality management database.
And an extra bonus - In addition, the new QMAN module can also be used at other points in the manufacturing process - particularly at packaging stations.
Before packing or installing an assembly, the serial number can be scanned at the IRWS station; the software can then check if all tests have been completed with a "pass". The assembly would not be released for packaging or installation until all necessary tests had been confirmed as passed. If any operational step had been missed, the system could indicate which step and, where to re-insert the assembly.
Another advantage is that the product can be also be easily integrated with systems from other vendors.
