Auch die Europäische Kommission unterstützt DVB-H und hat alle EU-Mitgliedsländer aufgerufen, den Standard anderen Technologien vorzuziehen, da sich seine Akzeptanz auf dem Markt bereits erwiesen habe.
Die Norm DIN EN 302304:2005 legt für den DVB-H-Standard die Übertragung zwischen Sendeeinrichtung und Empfangsgerät fest und bildet damit die Grundlage des Rundfunksystems. Die beiden Teile der Internationalen Normenreihe DIN EN 62002:2007 enthalten Festlegungen und Konformitätsprüfungen der Schnittstellen für den Rundfunkempfang mit integrierten Auto-Endgeräten, digitalen tragbaren Fernsehgeräten und tragbaren Hand-Konvergenz-Endgeräten.
Teil 1 der internationalen Normenreihe legt die Schnittstelle für die Dienste fest und enthält Festlegungen für Frequenzbereiche, Bandbreiten, Betriebsarten und Leistungswerte des Senders sowie Kennwerte der Antennen und Leistungswerte der Empfänger. Teil 2 beschäftigt sich mit Regeln und Richtlinien zur Konformitätsprüfung von Geräten, die den in Teil 1 festgelegten Spezifikationen entsprechen. Hierzu werden unter anderem Prüfverfahren und Mindestanforderungen bestimmt.
