Two eyes see more than one

WAECO: the best choice for safe driving

(PresseBox) (Emsdetten, )
Safe driving starts with keeping a constant eye on the traffic. This truism is the idea behind a unique innovation in the well-proven range of reversing video systems offered by automotive accessory specialist WAECO. The company's new systems, PerfectView LCD590 and PerfectView LCD790, incorporate a twin camera with two differently aligned lenses. Apart from surveying the area right behind the vehicle, this camera also provides long-distance vision towards the rear – for added safety in forward as well as reverse gear.
Its secret: two camera modules with different viewing angles integrated in the camera housing. The first lens, a 140-degree wide-angle one, provides an optimal view of everything happening right behind the vehicle – ideal for safe reversing or manoeuvring in parking lots. The second "eye", with a viewing angle of 40 degrees, covers a long monitoring range far beyond the vehicle's rear. This mode provides maximum safety when driving on motorways as it helps avoid risky overtaking manoeuvres.
The WAECO PerfectView LCD590 and LCD790 systems offers several obvious advantages over systems with swivel-lens camera. They do without fault-prone electric motors and mechanic parts, and there's no need for a control console either. Moreover, the two specialised lenses yield optimal pictures for either application. And more than that: the camera also features a high-quality microphone for complementary acoustic support. When moving forward the LCD monitors M511L (PerfectView LCD590) and M70L (PerfectView LCD790) show the long-distance view towards the rear. When reverse gear is engaged the system changes over to the close-vision mode. Thus it's easy to keep a perfect overview in any traffic situation.
Essentially, the difference between the PerfectView LCD590 and PerfectView LCD790 systems is the size of the LCD monitor: the M511L (LCD590) monitor measures five inches diagonally, the M70L (LCD790) comes with a seven-inch screen. Moreover, the two camera eyes of the PerfectView LCD790 system are protected from dirt and weather by a motor-operated shutter. Last but not least, PerfectView LCD790 is ready for operation in 12- and 24-volt vehicles.
