Embedding remote controls into existing large systems: dresden elektronik’s FLS-A lp
Whether in halls or open spaces, in production areas, trade, offices or warehouses, indoors or outdoors: the right lighting is extremely important in workspaces and places of action.
In order to enable industrial customers with large halls or office complexes to use this kind of sustainable and intelligent wireless lighting control, dresden elektronik ingenieurtechnik gmbh presents its new ZigBee ballast FLS-A for light fixtures with 1-10 V or a PWM control input. The new FLS-A lp is a wireless electronic ballast in a low-profile case that allows professional and variable illumination of halls and offices. Existing lighting systems can be extended easily and old wired systems can be replaced simply. The FLS-A lp ballast serves as a control device that allows the operation of existing lamps without any problems.
With this solution, every building can have intelligent wireless lighting control with minimal installation effort and without additional wiring. Especially customers and industry operators with large installations that include many high-powered lights benefit from this solution. All lamps with 1-10 V or a PWM control input can be incorporated into the ZigBee environment making wireless control possible.
Color intense lighting solutions for private homes or business: the ballast FLS-PP lp
Contemporary light control means not only variability of color intensity and atmosphere, but also flexible operating concepts and the possibility to integrate it into existing systems. The new wireless electronic ballast FLS-PP lp from dresden elektronik embodies exactly this. Compared to light controls like Philips and Osram the wireless electronic ballast FLS-PP lp provides considerably more power, and can be used, for example, for a 10 m long, 12 V RGB LED stripe. Surfaces are illuminated much better and a higher power of illumination is achieved. The acronym lp stands for low profile and indicates a slim design (141x30x13mm). In contrast to Philips and Osram the FLS-PP lp is equipped with four instead of three channels. The RGB/RGBW color management makes it possible to freely adjust countless nuances from reserved pastel shades up to saturated colors. The optional white channel broadens the spectrum of natural colors with high white content. Alongside 12V lamps, 24V lamps may also be used in professional areas of application.
FLS-H lp guarantees noble lamp design
The FLS-H lp ballast was completely redesigned with one channel. The H version is suitable for monochromatic lamps with anti-parallel diodes and offers a new lighting effect, e.g. with warm-cool-white, lighting which changes tones. The output has two wires and an H-bridge configuration. It has been specially designed for luxury lighting because it is controlled using two instead of three wires.
Wireless light control at the push of a button
It is not always enough to control a ZigBee Light Link (ZLL) wireless lighting system using an app and a mobile device such as a tablet or a smartphone. Especially in the private sector guests should only have limited access to lighting controls using their personal mobile device. Mobile light control in production halls and offices is rare.
To allow smart and easy operation of lighting even using a wall-mounted or portable switch, dresden elektronik is putting a new product on the market. Using the new battery-powered wireless Scene Switch dresden elektronik’s customers are able to control all integrated lights. They can easily be dimmed with just one keystroke to create a perfect working atmosphere or to set the right lighting mood in private homes. It’s also possible to set and save up to four different scenes. Later these scenes can easily be modified using the web app and activated with the scene tabs. This solution makes it possible to create and apply both the perfect lighting scenes for watching television at home as well as scenarios for meetings at work.
The Scene Switch is also compatible with ZigBee home automation systems such as RaspBee Gateway and Philips Hue but can also be operated without a gateway.
The uniqueness of the ZLL certified wireless switch lies not only in its wide scope but also in its special handling: the Scene Switch can be used as a wall switch and be integrated into existing switch systems or be used as a portable switch. This way, all integrated lights can be easily controlled, dimmed, or regulated in situ. The switch can also be customized using the JUNG F40 frame range.
Alongside the Scene Switch a second wireless switch is in planning. The new Lighting Switch will control separate lighting groups rather than save lighting scenarios.
With the wireless Scene Switch and the future Lighting Switch dresden elektronik is introducing an innovative product to the market which addresses a broad group of customers in both the private and corporate sectors and pushes home automation one step further.
Powerful solutions from a single source: the RaspBee Gateway by dresden elektronik
To ensure effective wireless lighting control from a single source, dresden elektronik offers its customers the RaspBee Gateway - a combination of RaspBee and Raspberry Pi as a LAN - ZigBee gateway. The gateway is the heart of our wireless light control system. It allows you to control your lights independent of your location using a smartphone, tablet, or PC. Other ZigBee Home Automation devices like the Philips Hue can be also integrated. It is operated with an intuitive, web-based user interface (web app) and doesn’t require any in-depth programming skills. Hardware is based on the Raspberry Pi Single Board Computer which becomes an Ethernet-ZigBee Gateway by attaching our RaspBee premium add-on module. It is controlled by the deCONZ software installed on an SD card containing a Raspbian Linux distribution. Although all products of dresden elektronik are still compatible with other vendors such as Osram and Philips, with the rich product range and its constant expansion the company offers its customers a complete package for wireless light control posibilities.
