EBV Elektronik Presents the Latest Issue of its Know-How Magazine 'The Quintessence', Covering Functional Safety

(PresseBox) (Poing/Munich, )
EBV Elektronik, an Avnet (NYSE: AVT) company and the leading specialist in EMEA semiconductor distribution, dedicates the ninth issue of its knowledge magazine 'The Quintessence' (TQ) to the topic of functional safety. The TQ magazine shows that systems for functional safety are thus not only in a position to guarantee a safe working environment, they also increase productivity and the profitability of production processes and facilities.

Bernd Schlemmer, Director Communications: "Functional safety is an unwieldy term, yet in fact the aim behind it is very simple: no machine, installation or device must present a risk to people or the environment in the event of a fault occurring while it is in operation. Awareness for this is increasing, driven mainly by the requirement to fulfill new regulations in specific markets like the automotive, medical, avionics, machinery, and railway industries, energy plants and even household appliances. That is a step forward in quality: electronic systems need to operate correctly while also being reliable and safe for users."

This issue of 'The Quintessence of Functional Safety' is not just concerned with the safety of electric vehicles. It introduces customers to various safety-related systems in a wide range of industries and shows how they ensure that no hazard arises even in the event of a malfunction. Each of these industries has its own standards which determine what is required of such systems and their development process; a great help for designers and system planners.

Selected content from the latest issue of 'The Quintessence' include:

- In conversation with Manuel Ostner: About lifestyle, e-bikes and safety
- Ticket to ride: Guidance systems increase rail capacity
- Nothing slips through the net: Systems for secure communication
- Safely into the grid: Feeding in renewable electricity without risk
- Panel of experts: Standards are not a panacea

'The Quintessence of Functional Safety' is available in German and English and can be ordered as a personal hard copy or an eco-friendly eBrochure at www.ebv.com/tq.
