This acknowledgement is awarded by the imaging and machine vision magazine inspect from the publishing house Wiley on a yearly basis. After selecting the most innovative products amongst the applications, readers have to choose between the shortlisted products and select the product they find most trend-setting and treasure most. This year, Edmund Optics applied with their new TECHSPEC® Cw Series Fixed Focal Length Lenses, featuring a waterproof design with IPX7 & IPX9K IEC Ingress Protection, and won the bronze medal in the “Vision” category.
Dr. Boris Lange, Manager Imaging Europe, states: “Edmund Optics always listens to market trends and customer’s requirements and the Cw lenses are a result of the latest development. The sealed, waterproof nature of the Cw Series makes them unique from traditional lenses that would require a protective cover over the imaging system in harsh environments with water exposure. We are aiming to bring the technology a good step forward by serving the market with a lens fulfilling the current gap.”
This innovative product convinced the inspect readers with its hydrophobic front window, O-ring seal design, and ability to be submerged underwater up to 1m depth for 30 minutes. The TECHSPEC® Cw Series Fixed Focal Length lenses can operate in close-range high pressure, high temperature water spray downs, and are ideal for applications including food, pharma, automotive, and security.
The first time Edmund Optics won an inspect Award was in 2016/2017 in Silver with its Cx series of compact and flexible lenses. In 2017/2018 the Ruggedized Cr lens series was awarded with Gold, followed in 2018/2019 by another Silver award for the Liquid Lens M12 Imaging Lenses series. In 2019/2020, EO was awarded with Bronze for the CA lens series, and another bronze again in 2020/2021 for the LT lens series. Edmund Optics is very proud to again be amongst the recipients of the inspect Award 2022 and very much appreciates the involvement of the readers.
