The EX Print Server for the iGen4 follows the recent successful launch of Fiery technology powering the Xerox Color 800/1000 Presses. The EX Print Server is also based on the new Fiery System 9 R2 platform, boasting a 35 percent increase in RIP speed over the previous generation. The EX Print Server together with the iGen4 Press is one of the most productive and highestquality cutsheet digital colour solutions in the printing industry, creating offset- and photoquality images with exceptional colour from the first print to the last. It is an ideal press for producing highend collateral, direct marketing, variable data print and photo specialty products.
"Our latest Fiery technology was designed with today's demanding print provider requirements in mind, and we worked closely with Xerox to exceed customers' expectations," said John Henze, vice president of Fiery marketing, EFI. "Driving the blazing fast iGen4 at engine speed, Fiery servers deliver quick document turnaround, amazing colour every time, and automated, intuitive workflows to help customers realise increased productivity, profits and competitiveness."
Fiery servers maximise the engine's colour gamut, delivering the most vivid and vibrant colours. The new Fiery Image Enhance feature improves the output quality of digital images by applying automatic corrections to optimise each image individually. Its automated workflow saves prepress time by eliminating lengthy image editing and file manipulation tasks yet ensuring images look their best.
Included in the solution is the newest version of Fiery Color Profiler Suite, which gives users the ability to control colour quality at every stage of the printing workflow. The integration of profile making with the iGen4 presses and Fiery Command WorkStation 5 reduces time needed to optimise colour quality while decreasing the possibility for errors, and provides the ability for colour matching of multiple engines in a production environment.
Fiery System 9 R2 fully supports Adobe® PDF Print Engine 2 (APPE), giving users another choice for endtoend PDF workflows in addition to the conventional PostScript interpreter. APPE enables integrated PDF workflows for highend graphics content and variable data printing, ensuring reliability and delivering expected results every time.
The Fiery open platform conforms to industry standards and integrates seamlessly into the Xerox FreeFlow(TM) Digital Workflow Collection, enabling integration into prepress and production processes and offering additional workflow automation tools to gain maximum production efficiency. Also, print providers with an EFI VUTEk® superwide printer, EFI Rastek(TM) wideformat printer, EFI Print MIS or EFI proofing solution can take advantage of the JDF integration between multiple EFI and Xerox technologies to optimise job management and production workflow.
