- The Elektror airsystems gmbh opened a new production hall for blowers and side channel blowers today. The company invested around 10 million euros in the building extension and its machines and facilities.
"We are continually growing and I am proud of what we have achieved: The modern production center not only gives our products another leap forward in quality, it is energy efficient as well," Ulrich Kreher (CEO).
The Building extension stands for growth
The production hall, approximately 3,600 square meters will be used for the growing production of low to high pressure blowers, conveying blowers, side channel blowers and the new series of stainless steel blowers.
In order to be prepared for increasing demand, the hall was planned to be able to extend step by step. In Waghäusel the production area could be four times bigger in the future. With the new extension building, an increase in production up to 30% can be reached in the following years.
The project was developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA. Requirements for the construction were the optimization of logistic routes, efficient production, employee-friendly workplaces and sustainable energy management.
"Green" production hall saves energy
Elektror and the new production hall possess an example of environmental protection:
A photovoltaic system on the roof of the hall brings electric generation. The hall is connected to a combined heating and power station. Additionally electricity saving LED illumination adjusts automatically to the natural light outside.
The opening celebration was a great success
Approximately 160 guests attended the opening celebration, among the guests were the Lord Mayor of Waghäusel Walter Heiler and the chairman of the council of the mmb-foundation, Franz Longin.
Mister Walter Heiler thanked Elektror in his opening speech: "I am very happy that Elektror chose the location Waghäusel. Thank you, Elektror, that you offer a great perspective of apprentices and studies to our youth."
After the official celebration, the inofficial part started. The old production hall was decorated in October-Fest-Style. Many guests appeared in dirndl dresses or leather shorts. The evening ended with good music, and delicious food.
