Every installation requires a connector panel. "But why are they always so big?" was the question the developers at ELEMENT ONE asked themselves. Small, lightweight, with an innovative magnetic closure and various optional surfaces, the SOCKET-X now supplements the ELEMENT ONE product range with an attractively priced desktop connection panel in the company's proven high standard of quality. The SOCKET-X is coordinated with the manufacturer's integrated flat screens in terms of its dimensions and appearance.
"SOCKET-X was developed with a keen eye on the market. Although we haven't reinvented the wheel, we have invented a 'wheel' that fits perfectly with our own products," explains Thorsten Nees, Managing Director of ELEMENT ONE Multimedia GmbH.
In addition to interactive communication systems, every meeting and conference room needs connector panels for audio, video, power or network connections. "The desktop connection panels available on the market have never met our design and quality requirements." The construction and dimensions were not right and, in particular, the surfaces were not visually coordinated with the monitors.
Minimalist design – maximum functionality
The challenge in developing the SOCKET-X was to integrate a mechanism for the closure in the smallest possible housing. With a visible surface width of just 100 mm and an installation depth of max. 75 mm, the desktop connection panel is extremely compact with dimensions reduced to the absolute minimum. The result is an innovative magnetic closure with neodymium magnet and magnetically lockable button.
The ELEMENT ONE desktop connection panel is made of high-strength, biodegradable and food-safe plastic to ensure complete electrical insulation of the components. The customer can choose the type of surface finish, e.g. aluminium, stainless steel or a specific coating to coordinate with the room design and monitor. Different metals are also available, as is Resopal laminate or wood. "The finishing touch is the integrated LED illumination." SOCKET-X is available in three different lengths and can be individually configured and fitted with modular plug-in elements for USB, HDMI, XLR, RJ45 etc. as required. In addition, the entire connection panel has an extremely lightweight design.
