Mit den technischen Daten wie der CPU-Frequenz von 600 MHz bis 1 GHz, 100-MHz-SO-DIMMs bis 512 MByte und zwei Ethernet-Schnittstellen ist das Board prädestiniert für den Einsatz in rechenintensiven Applikationen mit hohen Anforderungen an die Konnektivität. Zur weiteren technische Ausstattung gehören Onboard-IDE-Interface, CompactFlash-Steckplatz und Boot-PROM. Im Rahmen seiner „Industrial Linux“-Initiative bietet ELTEC auch für dieses Board die Implementierungen von ELinOS als Embedded LINUX und OS-9 als Standard an. Weitere Unterstützung für VxWorks gibt es auf Anfrage.
Das PowerPC-basierte BAB 912-Board mit PCISA-Interface ist ideal für die Implementierung von kompakten, industriellen Echtzeitsystemen. Das Board nutzt den MPC107 Chipsatz von Motorola, wodurch eine lange Verfügbarkeit gewährleistet ist. Aufgrund der geringen Leistungsaufnahme der CPU, werden Kühlprobleme von vornherein vermieden.
Über den PCISA-Steckverbinder werden bis zu vier externe PCI-Slots unterstützt. Zusätzliche Slots können über eine PCI-to-PCI-Bridge auf der Backplane realisiert werden.
