On Ecobuild 2012, Emmvee will present its bestseller to the British market - Emmvee Black Pearl. On booth N3260, one can take a look at the product range of the producer, including the Black Pearl: the completely black module comprises of 60 monocrystalline cells made by Bosch as well as the 4 mm structured front glass Albarino P for an increase in efficiency. The pyramidal patterned surface of the module captures the light of the low lying sun plenty fold and reflects it back to the module layer, due to a light trap effect.
The completely black module is particularly suited for British architecture. Due to its black colour the module blends almost with dark rooftops. This makes it ideal for pv applications on old buildings.
The special structure of the front glass also facilitates cleaning, since the flow velocity of rain water is higher around the structure, similar to the effect on the surface the wings of an airplane. Furthermore, the surface is smaller (just the peaks of the pyramids) so that bigger particles (e.g. leafs) stick less easily than on flat glass. This way, the modules stays longer cleaner.
Emmvee modules consist of German brand components. They have been tested independently by IFSH, TÜV Rheinland, BBA and UL. Emmvee Photovoltaics GmbH is located in Berlin, with branches in Darlington, Teramo und Paris.
