The ApolloFLEX Mono, a new solar panel manufactured in Germany, is specially designed for the marine and off-grid market. Using back contact SunPower® solar cells and using ETFE plastic instead of glass allows the solar panel to be slightly flexible and capable of molding to the decks of boats and yachts while still protecting the solar cells and allowing a high percentage of UV-light through to be absorbed. By using no glass in the construction, the solar panel is also capable of being walked on once it is installed. This method also has the positive side effect of making the entire solar panel lighter, up to 80% compared to conventional aluminum framed glass modules as well as being only 3 millimeters thick.
The high quality solar panels are manufactured in Germany. Solar cells are mounted on high quality aerospace grade fiberglass and laminated with ETFE polymer which makes for a very thin and very light solar panel. A thin profile makes for less of a footprint on a boat deck.
Having been designed for use in all weather environments, the ApolloFLEX Mono uses high quality marine cables as well as a sealed and potted junction box to protect against ingress of salt water.
The ApolloFLEX Mono solar panel is available in Europe in three different power outputs - 35 Watts, 70 Watts and 107 Watts.
Euro-Line Solar will be showcasing the new ApolloFLEX Mono solar panels at the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) in Amsterdam from November 19th-21st 2013 in Hall 11, Stand 902.
