So far EUROstor ensured the perfect interaction of hardware and software and now, in turn, there is also a guarantee of the software producer: the EUROstor ES-8700 system was checked and certified by Open-E through elaborate test procedures. Advantage for the customers: both parties assume responsibility for the smooth functioning of the system and the customer can rely on full support by both partners.
ES-8724DSS is the biggest storage system certified by Open-E so far, with 24 hard disks in 4 units, hardware RAID controller and four 10 Gbit iSCSI interface ports. Should that not be sufficient the system may be expanded through JBODs (up to a total of 122 disks) and further interface cards.
Without any further hardware modification the certified RAID systems may also be used as clusters with automatic failover for iSCSI and NFS volumes. Thus they are also the ideal solution in situations requiring very high availability.
"Even if EUROstor eventually always assumes responsibility towards the customer for the full functioning and performance of its RAID systems, it is good to know that the software partner, too, checked the configuration according to his own criteria and requirements", says Franz Bochtler, general manager of EUROstor. "For many customers that's a valid additional argument for our products."
"Our gold partner EUROstor - employing technicians trained and qualified by our company, certified storage systems and a broad installed base - provides us as the software producers with the opportunity to continuously optimize the interaction between hardware and software", says Janusz Bak, CTO of Open-E. "Close cooperation is very important for us and therefore we especially appreciate the fact that we have been chosen to certify EUROstor's systems".
The all-inclusive price for the certified ES-8700DSS with 24 slots, equipped with 12 x 2 TB nearline hard disks, two 10 Gbit ports and four 1 Gbit ports, for example, amounts to €8,556.10 VAT included (€ 7,190.00 without VAT).
