“As Microsoft rolls out major releases like Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and Windows Live services, industry partners like Fiberlink are helping customers with expanded security services,” says Gerry Albert, Sr. Platform Strategy Advisor, Microsoft. “Fiberlink’s new data leakage prevention service, utilizing Microsoft’s platform services, is an example of how innovative new solutions help to protect today’s mobile workforce.”
Fiberlink’s DLP reduces identity theft, intellectual property leaks and data privacy risks. The always-on prevention tool stays current with these fast-evolving risks and manages laptops regardless of network connection.
“The addition of this service rounds out our complete suite of on-demand data protection services,” said Marc Solomon, director of product management for Fiberlink. “We now offer content- and context-specific data leakage protection, USB and other peripheral device control, data encryption, and back-up and recovery solutions. All of these services are from a single software platform and delivered as an on-demand service eliminating the need for on-site infrastructure.”
Fiberlink’s DLP service provides control of all network protocols, such as e-mail, webmail and instant messaging applications. The service recognizes over 300 file types, including e-mail, technical and engineering documents. Pop-up alerts warn end-users of imminent risks and system administrators of detected incidents. The client-based architecture ensures real-time enforcement on the endpoint.
Fiberlink’s security services fall into three categories – endpoint security services, data protection services and endpoint control services. The company continues to expand its scope of security functionality based on the needs of its enterprise customers.
Fiberlink offers customers a menu of more than a dozen security applications for unified, real-time visibility and control of mobile devices. These Fiberlink on-demand security services, including this new data leakage prevention offering, are integrated with the Extend360 Mobility Platform™. Extend360 and Fiberlink’s new DLP are both Windows Vista compliant solutions.
