Service life doubled with new Siegling Extremultus power transmission belts

Very resilient and heat-resistant belt type complements the Siegling Extremultus product portfolio

(PresseBox) (Hannover, )
In the production of cardboard packaging, the cardboard sheet is guided through a folder gluer by means of a top and bottom belt. The belts reach speeds of > 12 m/s in this process. A special application here is the production of aseptic cartons for liquid foods (e.g. milk, cream, juice, etc.). The additional process step required here to seal the carton is carried out under high temperatures in a special module (so-called sealer) - in this case with hot air of up to 600°C. The belts are heated to the required temperature. To reduce the heating of the belts/tapes, the belts/tapes are cooled on the underside.

For this special application, Forbo Movement Systems has expanded its portfolio of the Siegling Extremultus product line to include the new belt type Extremultus TR 10P-30 FBRC/NSTR black/grey FDA (part no. 855651). A leading global manufacturer of carton packaging for liquid foods (e.g. milk or juice) is already using it successfully. The new high-performance belt has a Medium Grip carrying side coating. Despite the extreme application conditions, the grip properties are maintained over the running time and, unlike rubber coatings, the belt coating shows no tendency to crack. The newly developed Extremultus TR 10P-30 FBRC/NSTR black/grey FDA folding box belt also shows very good running-in behavior after belt replacement.

The belt meets the requirements for direct contact with foodstuffs according to FDA21 CFR and EU 10/2011 as well as EC 1935/2004 and can therefore be used in the food and beverage industry without any problems.
