Hitachi's High Definition digital Chassis Camera range provides excellent low-light performance, a choice of 720p and full HD 1080p resolution and is suitable for locations where clarity of image is a priority. Features include wide dynamic range, optical zoom and natural colour reproduction.
The DI-SC231 camera, which can zoom in at up to 30X magnification even during Full HD resolution capture (1920x1080), is excellent for low light day and night monitoring applications and has increased visibility in dark and foggy environments. Hitachi’s unique high-speed autofocus system allows for swift tracking of the subject in high resolution, whilst Electronics Image Stabilization (EIS) reduces the effect of image shake caused by strong winds or vehicle vibrations, ensuring stable pictures even at high levels of zoom.. The DI-SC231 features include: 2.0 Megapixel CMOS Sensor, IR Cut Filter Removable for Day/Night Capability, 0.4 lux minimum sensitivity with Enhanced Intensity and Auto Defog, 0.01 lux with IR Cut Filter Off, YUV422 16 bit Digital Output Modes, 1280x720 60fps, Digital Image Flip, Wide Dynamic Range and Motion detection, Frame Noise Reduction, Digital Slow Shutter, White Spot Reduction, Privacy Masking 16 Zone 3-D, 16 masks/screen.
The DI-SC233 camera offers the above features but with a 60 frame per second video capture at full 1080p resolution suitable for capture of fast moving objects and events.
Further examples in the HD digital range include the DI-SC120R camera which utilizes a Global shutter CCD sensor to provide clear and crisp images of high speed moving objects and is particularly suited for Automatic Number plate Recognition (ANPR) and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) applications.
The new DSP10 Digital Signal Processor chip developed by Hitachi is integrated in all new generation Full HD cameras. The DSP10 camera control’s high speed computation provides superb image definition and new features including Enhanced Intensity Whiteout reduction, low light performance, Autofocus with point light source and high speed focus during zooming operations.
Julian Parfitt, FRAMOS Managing Director UK, explains: “Combining the Hitachi HD Digital Chassis Cameras with a range of interface cards from our partner Riken Dengu Seizo allows our customers to expand the interface options of these camera modules to include SD-HDI and in future HDMI, USB-3.0 and Gigabit Ethernet. This solution can be further combined with a range of IP Video encoders and compression cards from our partner Euresys.”
Hitachi's range of Standard Definition analogue chassis cameras provides a choice of cameras suited to a wide range of applications, including surveillance and in-car integration, that provide high performance in low light conditions. All analogue cameras are available in PAL and NTSC versions, and offer optical zoom and a compact chassis design.
Examples include the Hitachi VK-655N/EN (NTSC/PAL), with minimum sensitivity of 1.0lx and features such as Digital Slow Shutter, Removable IR Cut Filter for Day/Night Capability and Frame Noise Reduction. This camera is perfect where high quality images are required in very low light conditions. The VK-655N/EN highlights include: Hitachi DSP 8 camera control, 36X Optical Zoom with 12X digital Zoom, NTSC/PAL output, YUV422 8 bit Digital Output, 1/4" High Sensitivity CCD, 540 TV Lines of Resolution, Motion Detection, Wide Dynamic Range, Luminance S/N ratio >50dB, Privacy Masking 2 Zone 2-D, 8 Zone 3-D (4 per screen) and Serial Control. The Standard Definition cameras can be combined with frame grabbers from Pleora for SD Analogue applications.
