GYLON® EPIX uses all the chemical advantages of the current PTFE gasket products and increases its performance in a textured one thickness style. The new universal thickness of 2.4 mm combines the sealing and blowout resistance of 1.6 mm resp. 2.0 mm products with the compressibility and forgiveness of 3.2 mm options.
GYLON® EPIX provides high compensational capabilities with a bigger operating area, particularly for large-diameter flanges where misalignment and variability typically drive end users to thicker (E.g. 3.2 mm) gaskets.
"Our GYLON® brand line has been the industry standard for the past 50 years, and with the launch of GYLON®EPIX we're redefining the segment,” says Kerstin Holle, product manager for gasketing materials in Europe. "GYLON®EPIX will merge the operating advantages of 1.6 resp. 2.0 mm with the ease of use of 3.2 mm, changing the way gaskets are used in a wide spectrum of applications."
With its improved sealability, emissions can be substantially reduced, making a huge impact on assuring environmental safety and reducing product loss. In metallic flanges, GYLON® EPIX performs as well or better than existing 1.6 resp. 2.0 mm or 3.2 mm GYLON® gaskets, allowing end-users and distributors to consolidate inventory and numbers of gaskets stocked. This helps to reduce the risk of using incorrect gasket sizes and to drive down inventory costs.
The new GYLON® EPIX brings PTFE gasketing to a next level. While replacing all current gaskets of 1.6 to 3.2 mm thickness it is outperforming all other gasketing products in the market, improving environmental safety as well as stock management possibilities.
