Gartner today announced it will launch a Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) annual Enterprise Networking & Communications Summit. The inaugural conference will be co-located with the company s established Wireless & Mobile Summit 2008 at the Royal Lancaster hotel, London, UK, on 23-24 April 2008.
"The EMEA Enterprise Networking & Communications Summit builds on the success of the Enterprise Networking & Communications Summit already established in the US, which recently took place in December and attracted more than 350 delegates," said Alister Christopher, senior vice president worldwide events at Gartner."
"Explosive growth across all areas of networking and communications creates challenges for managing expenses, security and access," said Steve Blood, research vice president at Gartner. "Enterprise networking and communications forms a key challenge for modern IT executives to innovatively support the business. The Enterprise Networking & Communications Summit will examine how organisations can accelerate business processes and increase agility through optimised communications."
Mr Blood added: "The conference will provide the latest strategic insights, operational examples, and technological advice to drive cost-effective innovation, plan and capitalise on investment in new architecture and applications. The focus for chief information officers (CIOs) is shifting from simply saving costs to supporting business growth and efficiency while still keeping a grip on outlay."
The two Summits offer five tracks:

- Communications and Applications for a More Responsive Business.
- Wireless & Mobile Summit:
- Evolving the IT Infrastructure to Access the Potential of Mobile and Wireless.

In more than 80 sessions, Gartner analysts will explore:
