The aim of the winning project at the University of Applied Sciences Ravensburg-Weingarten was the introduction of a process-oriented quality management (QM). The QM system should analyze and improve processes in the field of teaching, learning and management as well as inform about all progresses. The project implementation was made with the help of the holistic BIC Platform of GBTEC. In a first step all business processes were modelled with the BPM solution BIC and thus an increased transparency was created. Subsequently all processes have been analyzed and expanded to perform a target-performance comparison. Through this process analysis, optimisation options can be seen quickly and a cost-benefit analysis of all processes is facilitated. Moreover, the process automation enables numerous positive effects of previously and manually executed procedures such as faster cycle times, avoid multiple entries etc. to support the strategy and goals of the university sustainable.
In the comprehensive project the following BIC modules are in use: BIC Design for modelling and analysis, BIC Portal for publishing and communication, BIC Governance for process sharing and versioning of processes, BIC Document for document management, BIC Monitor for the analysis of data and creating of KPI’s in the field of teaching and learning and BIC Execution for process execution.
