“Our technology is based on a known physical science– heat energy turns liquids to gas, leveraging latent heat is highly more efficient than cold liquid becoming hot in single phase,” said Avinoam Rubinstain, CEO of Carrar, “We’ve simply extrapolated it to the highly demanding systems within EV battery packs.”
Carrar combines its active controlled pool boiling technology together with Gentherm battery performance products to deliver radical, innovative two-phase, immersion solution that is capable to keep battery’s cells at the optimal and unified temperature at any ambient condition.
The Carrar’s enhanced nucleation thermal technology extends battery life cycles, enables ultrafast charging, and dramatically improves passenger safety. Carrar's mission is to enable safe, pervasive, and greener EVs by providing mature and cost-effective two-phase thermal management.
“Effective, affordable – and simple – two-phase thermal management has been a challenge for more than three decades,” says Florian Hammerschmidt, Executive Director, Product Line Management Battery Performance Solutions (BPS) Gentherm. “Carrar’s approach has provided the missing piece of the puzzle, making the battery safe and ‘health’ for longer lifetime.”
Gentherm announced an investment in Carrar in 2021 and are working together to drive automotive industry wide implementation of two-phase thermal management.
About Carrar
Carrar is a leading developer and supplier of thermal management solutions for eMobility. Electric vehicle manufacturers and battery pack vendors benefit from our enhanced nucleation thermal technology for batteries, power electronics & compute, which extend battery life cycles, enable ultrafast charging, and dramatically improve vehicle passengers’ safety. Carrar's mission is to enable safe, pervasive, and greener EVs by providing mature and cost-effective two-phase thermal management. Our strategy is to win the car manufacturers' (OEMs) mindshare and build a large partnership group and ecosystem to drive industry wide implementation of two- phase thermal management.
