BENAND™ Flash von TOSHIBA entlastet Host-Prozessoren

BENAND(TM) von TOSHIBA (Vertrieb: GLYN) ist der erste SLC (Single Level Cell) NAND Flash-Speicher mit integrierter Fehlerkorrektur (ECC).

Dieser Speicher entlastet den Host-Prozessor um die ECC-Funktion. Damit ist eine Korrektur von 4-Bit und mehr pro 512 Byte bei einer 32-nm-Technologie möglich.

Für NAND Flash ohne ECC in 32-nm-Technologie und darüber hinaus muss der Controller im Host-Prozessor verändert werden, um den erforderlichen Korrekturgrad zu erreichen.

TOSHIBA BENAND(TM) (Built-in ECC NAND) in 32-nm-Prozess:

- Entlastet den Host-Prozessor um die ECC-Funktion mit zusätzlich verbesserter 4-Bit-Korrektur pro 512 Byte
- Minimiert die Protokolländerungen
- Ermöglicht Host-Prozessoren, NAND Flash-Speicher mit neuester Prozesstechnologie einzusetzen

Gehäuse und Anschlussbelegung sind laut Herstellerangaben kompatibel zum SLC NAND.

Die einfache Schnittstelle, kombiniert mit der Zuverlässigkeit von SLC NAND, sorgt für ein breites Einsatzgebiet in den Bereichen SMART-Home, Robotersteuerungen und industrielle Anwendungen.
