The SolarPower Europe O&M Best Practice Guidelines have been translated into the German language recently. This handbook was presented at the 20th „Forum Neue Energiewelt“ from 21st- 22nd November 2019 in Berlin within a separate session. Six industry representatives presented the background, targets and content of the document. In this context, Jörn Carstensen, Managing Director of greentech, talked about maintenance of PV systems, including repair, revamping and repowering. A real life project was used to provide recommendations with regard to analysis, planning, execution and review of a revamping project. “We appreciate that the O&M Best Practice Guidelines have been translated into the German language. As we have been involved in the production of this document, we are pleased to see how the handbook is accepted in the industry and will play an important role for further professionalisation.” says Jörn Carstensen, Managing Director of greentech.
On December 4th and 5th the fourth „Smart Solar PV – Data Analytics and IOT” took place in Berlin. greentech’s Managing Director Aleksis Schäfer presented at this conference about a new analysis method which enables identification of marginal performance deviations early and reliably. Especially on PV systems with less granular monitoring systems, it might happen that slight and gradual degradation-effects are discovered too late. Thanks to the Power-Curve-Analysis, developed by greentech, even early performance deviations can be identified, and corresponding actions can be taken. “Our portfolio consists of a variety of PV systems with regard to age, topology and monitoring systems. Therefore, it is of high importance to have a consistent but flexible and independent methodology, which delivers reliable results and enables highest system performance for our customers.” says Aleksis Schäfer, Managing Director at greentech
Yaw Ofori, Managing Director of greentech UK, was invited to speak at the „O&M and Asset Management“ conference in London, organised by UK Solar Trade Association and Solar Power Europe on December 5th. In his keynote presentation, Yaw Ofori talked about greentech’s experience in the area of inverter repowering and introduced a real life show case, to approximately 200 delegates at the event. The following panel discussed, if owners and operators of PV systems would utilize the full potential of repowering measures and when the ideal point of time for repowering projects to be embarked upon. “It is a great pleasure to meet with other industry experts at this event and exchange on latest trends in PV O&M. We are proud to be part of the SolarPower Europe community, which again continues to set high standards with the release of the 4th edition of the O&M Best Practice Guidlines.” says Yaw Ofori, Managing Director of greentech UK.
