Mit diesem zukunftsweisenden Schritt reagiert Clearstream auf die steigende Nachfrage von Investmentbanken und Emittenten in Bezug auf die Ausgabe und Abwicklung von auf PEN lautenden Eurobonds. Nachdem Clearstream den peruanischen Nuevo Sol uneingeschränkt als Abwicklungswährung zugelassen hat, können Emittenten, die an einer Emission von auf PEN lautenden und in PEN abgewickelten Eurobonds interessiert sind, das Clearing und die Abwicklung ihrer Vermögenswerte nun über den in Luxemburg ansässigen ICSD vornehmen. Drei andere südamerikanische Währungen sind bereits zur Abwicklung bei Clearstream zugelassen, der Argentinischer, der Mexikanischer und der Uruguayischer Peso.
Der peruanische Nuevo Sol ist keine zur Bridge zugelassene Währung. Die Bridge ist eine elektronische Kommunikationsplattform zur effizienten Abwicklung von Wertpapiertransaktionen zwischen Kontrahenten von Clearstream Banking Luxemburg und Euroclear Bank.
Die neue Währung (ZMK) wurde als Nennwährungen bei Clearstream zugelassen, d.h. ausschließlich zur Denominierung einer Anleiheemission. Dieser Schritt beinhaltet nicht die Zulassung als Abwicklungswährung, d.h. Kunden von Clearstream können zwar Wertpapiere in diesen Währungen ausgeben, eine Abwicklung gegen Zahlung in diesen Währungen ist indes nicht möglich.Insgesamt sind 42 Abwicklungswährungen und 52 Nennwährungen bei Clearstream zugelassen.
