The primary focus of the GearEngineer is the provision of accurate 3D geometry of gearings as the basis for alternative manufacturing methods. The GearEngineer supports a wide range of different gear types - from spur gears to spiral bevel gears.
The accurate gear tooth form is determined due to an integrated simulation of the manufacturing process in order to ensure the comparability to traditional manufacturing processes. After check of given gear parameters or after gear calculation and optimization, the 3D geometry can be transferred to a CAD/CAM system with just one click. Based on the accurate gear geometry, the optimum machining strategy for a CNC machining center can be obtained in the CAM system.
The calculation of the main gear geometries is based on generally accepted calculation methods (e.g., DIN and ISO standards). Calculation reports can be automatically created and are available in HTML and PDF format. The reports contain all input data, detailed calculation results as well as test dimensions. Although the GearEngineer is a powerful software, the handling is easy and intuitive. The software opens up completely new possibilities for the engineering and manufacturing of gears. In conjunction with multi-axis machining centers, the GearEngineer provides a high flexibility and thus expensive tool costs can be reduced. The GearEngineer is the perfect solution for single item and small batch production, in particular for middle or large-sized module ranges.
