High availability operation of the Smart Factory modular system is not possible without diagnosis and active performance management. Identification, monitoring and automatic module docking/undocking are crucial for the availability. An integrated human-machine interface (HMI) visualizes these new Infrastructure Box functions in a way that is even simpler - and consequently even more user friendly.
The HARTING Infrastructure Box offers constant monitoring of all of the system's lifelines. The reconfiguration and expansion, including during operation, is only guaranteed by making the system pluggable with Han-Modular® and selective operation startup. "This allows the Infrastructure Box to act as a link in the Industrie 4.0 architecture, and keeps the system's heart ticking, so to speak," explains Andreas Huhman, Strategy Consultant Connectivity & Networks, at HARTING.
Thanks to active data and energy management, maximum performance is achievable in connection with minimum resources. Power management (multiple feed-in) and bandwidth management of the data (real-time, safety) have been highly integrated into the HARTING Infrastructure Box. Given the clear commitment to this new Smart Factory backbone in the form of a device, instead of a switch cabinet add-on, the world's smallest infrastructure box for Smart Factories has been successfully installed.
You will encounter the compact unit as part of the HAII4YOU system (the HARTING Smart Factory), and also in the SmartFactoryKL. Both Smart Factories will be showcased again at SPS IPC Drives, delivering a live demonstration of the advantages of a powerful infrastructure.
