HARTING presents innovative solutions at "Embedded World"

MICA.network companies show their applications

(PresseBox) (Espelkamp, )
HARTING will present numerous innovations at the fair “Embedded World” (Nuremberg, March 14th to 16th, 2017) In addition to HARTING's expertise in the field of backplanes, the highlight on the HARTING stand (hall 3A / stand 332) will be the Mini-Industrial-Computer MICA®, which garnered the HERMES Award 2016. With its new EtherCAT board, data can be directly collected from industrial production networks, preprocessed and forwarded to IT systems via various standard protocols such as OPC UA or MQTT. Thanks to the modular hardware concept, which allows individual function boards, the other advantages of MICA are retained, e.g. protection class IP67, industrial connectors and compliance with important industrial standards.

MICA as soft PLC with protection class IP67

logi.cals and SDI Innovation are two companies from the MICA.network – the user community around MICA – which will also present complex solutions featuring the MICA at the HARTING stand. The logi.CAD 3 from logi.cals, a provider of innovative engineering software for automation technicians, makes a free soft-PLC basic software available for the MICA. This enables the mini-PC to be used as a soft PLC in environments requiring IP67 protection.

The company SDI Innovation presents its expertise in the area of machine park optimisation based on intelligent networking via a decentralised MICA network. Here, application tools for the measurement of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and total productive maintenance (TPM) are installed on the MICA. The offering is rounded out with modern service for machinery parks. In addition to inspection, maintenance and servicing, this also includes spare parts management.

Customer-specific terminal blocks and new DIN 41612 variants

In the product segment electromechanical components, HARTING presents new variants of its circuit board connectors. HARTING has enhanced the har-flexicon® miniature circuit board series for the fast connection of single-core connectors with the addition of extensive customisation options. Different colours and printings are possible, in line with customer requirements. Variants with screw connections will also be presented. Also new are DIN 41612 female connectors with the designs 3Q and 3R. These are particularly suitable for applications where two small circuit boards are connected vertically or side by side.

Small heroes for the miniaturized connectivity of tomorrow

The HARTING ix Industrial®, HARTING T1 Industrial® and M8 D-coded are HARTING's "super heroes" for the miniaturised connectivity of the industry of tomorrow. The ix Industrial connector positions itself as a smaller alternative to the RJ45, with a 70% reduction in space requirements compared to typical RJ45 sockets. With its T1, HARTING provides a glimpse into the future of Ethernet transmission over just one pair of wires. With new protocols and new PHYs, transmission rates of up to 10 Gbit/s and PoDL powers of up to 60 W are no longer a problem with this technology. The T1 – a suitable mating face for all industrial requirements – will be presented at the HARTING booth at Embedded World.
