Faced with the integration of additional services and an increasing number of end-devices, Ethernet networks on rolling stock must be designed for higher bandwidth. A total of 10 Ethernet ports (2GbE + 8FE) are implemented as vibration-proof M12 ports. Both the managed and unmanaged switches feature by-pass functionality, while the managed switch also supports external configuration memory.
The switches are designed to work in tandem with the innovative new M12 PushPull connector technology, as well as with the well-known M12 connectors with screw locking. The M12 PushPull solution simplifies and speeds up the handling of Ethernet switches during installation. M12 PushPull results in a reliable and vibration-resistant connection to the switch, which locks with an audible click. Both the Ha-VIS eCon 4100 (unmanaged) and the Ha-VIS mCon 4100 (managed) are available from the first quarter of 2015.
