Managing Director Wilhelm Dyckerhoff began by presenting the young company's team, which is currently 20 members strong and is expected to grow to 50 members in the coming months. He extended sincere thanks to those who successfully planned the construction project and accompanied it from the laying of the cornerstone to its completion. On the 10,000 m² factory site, there is an administration building and a neighboring production hall.
Dr. Reinhold Festge, Active Partner of Haver & Boecker OHG in Germany, stressed in his welcoming speech that India is in no way a new market for the German machinery company, instead that the Indian cement and construction materials industry has been supplied with German technology for 55 years. The good development prognoses for India as well as the positive experiences that the Haver & Boecker Wire Weaving Division has made in over 20 years of its joint-venture ultimately gave reason to found a branch office. The inauguration signals the beginning of the production of high-quality equipment for the handling and packaging of cement and construction materials. The company is thereby in the position to meet growing demand in India for automation and efficient plant technology and to ensure short delivery channels.
Cement symposium
The day after the inauguration Haver Ibau India held its first symposium for experts from the cement industry. Employees of Haver Ibau India, Haver & Boecker and Ibau Hamburg presented a detailed product range for the Indian cement industry. The spectrum encompasses the most modern engineering and plant technology, from Bulk Loading to Mixing and Storage, from Packing to Dispatch and Bulk Loading. Beyond this, Haver Ibau India places much emphasis on giving the customer complete and reliable service.
A valuable addition to the meeting's agenda was provided by two bag manufacturers, Starlinger und Dy-Pack, who informed the approximately 50 symposium participants about the woven PP plastic bag as well as the pasted paper valve bag with their respective areas of application and advantages.
The highlight of the symposium was the presentation of the first Haver Ibau India Innovation Award to Grasim Industries Ltd. The White Cement Division of Grasim Industries is the first company in India to operate a HAVER ROTOSEAL®, a rotating packing machine with an automatic ultrasonic bag closing system for valve bags. With the conferment of the innovation prize, Haver Ibau India pays tribute to the progressive thinking and trust in innovative technology, which above all creates better work conditions for operating personnel.
An in-house exhibition with many items from the Haver Ibau India product range rounded off the lecture program. In guided tours the participants had the opportunity to examine machines and laboratory equipment up close as well as ask individual questions.
