A thick insulating layer directly under the drywall can cause serious problems when mounting down lights. Without a safe distance between spotlight and insulating material, the lighting installation turns into a tricky situation. The extremely hot lights emit heat, which is a dangerous fire hazard for all surrounding materials of the ceiling construction.
To prevent this, HellermannTyton has developed SpotClip. The innovative, 4-leg ceiling brace has a number of outstanding features and is suitable for use in both panelling and plasterboard. SpotClip can even be installed afterwards and thus opens up a variety of possibilities for applications in both old and new buildings.
In addition, SpotClip offers a number of thermal and mechanical advantages. It consists of a non-flammable, fibre-glass reinforced polyamide that is halogen free, especially resistant to temperature and classified to UL94 V0.
SpotClip can be applied rapidly and effortlessly. Insert the feed cables into the cable slots for attaching them to the heat shield. Due to four flexible mounting tabs, SpotClip locks easily in the ceiling cavity. Retaining pins prevent SpotClip from sliding.
SpotClip reduces the risk of damage being caused to any insulation material as a result of overheating and heat accumulation. This may also have a positive effect on the life time of the lighting spot being used.
