In his opinion, the most promising potential for the in-house product Neuburg Siliceous Earth is therefore represented in carbon black replacement. “Our products ensure lower CO2 input and consumption here, compared to petroleum-based carbon black.” The PAH-free Neuburg Siliceous Earth can also prevent the migration of hazardous substances to the greatest possible extent.
Another option for reducing harmful substances is, for example, the use of fillers such as Aktisil Q, which enables, i. e., the use of a chlorine-free peroxide in silicone rubber. The Tailored Filler Solutions by HOFFMANN MINERAL spot weld by the use of hollow glass spheres to reduce density and weight, which can lead to lower CO2 consumption in mobility applications.
