Er war die Sensation auf der Motorradmesse EICMA: der Honda Prototyp True Adventure. Inspiriert vom aktuellen Engagement im Dakar Programm ist der True Adventure Prototyp das Bindeglied zur aktuellen Modellpalette, die künftig eine stärkere Präsenz im Adventure Segment bieten wird.

Entwicklungsziel war es, ein Motorrad zu bauen, das hervorragende Offroad-Eigenschaften bietet - ein Motorrad perfekt für eine Weltumrundung.

Der Offroad-Auftritt wurde auf der EICMA von der aktuellen Team HRC CRF450R Rally unterstützt und der NXR750V, mit der Gilles Lalay im Jahr 1989 die Rally Paris-Dakar gewonnen hat.
