IBM hat neue cloudbasierte DevOps-Services, Softwarelösungen und Infrastruktur vorgestellt, mit denen Unternehmen die Entwicklung und den Vertrieb von Software verbessern können. Laut der Studie "IDC Futurescape: Worldwide CIO Agenda 2015 Predictions"sehen 60 Prozent der CIOs (Chief Information Officer) DevOps als wichtigstes Werkzeug an, um Mobile-Apps sowie Cloud- und Open-Source-Anwendungen zu entwickeln. Der Markt geht davon aus, dass es vor allem softwarebasierte Innovationen sein werden, mit denen Unternehmen für ihre Kunden einen Mehrwert erzeugen können. Die Lösung IBM DevOps Innovation Services unterstützt Unternehmen beim Einsatz von DevOps und ermöglicht es ihnen, die Entwicklungszyklen von Software und Apps zu senken sowie die Softwarequalität zu verbessern. Die hybriden Cloud-Services basieren auf IBM Erfahrung aus vielen hundert Kundenprojekten und einem umfassenden Portfolio an Entwicklungstools, zu dem unter anderem die offene PaaS-Umgebung (Platform as a Service) Bluemix gehört. Kunden wie das US-amerikanische Versicherungsunternehmen Nationwide Mutual Insurance und Pearson VUE, ein Anbieter von IT-basierten Examen und Prüfungen, profitieren bereits von den IBM DevOps-Angeboten.
