This latest report from IDC marks the 12th consecutive quarter that IBM has held the number-one position in worldwide branded total tape revenue and grew faster than all other major vendors. The report “IDC Worldwide Branded Tape 1Q’07 Vendor Analysis” indicated that for the first quarter of 2007, IBM grew total tape revenue worldwide 12 percent year to year, to gain five points of share compared to Q1’06, capturing 32 percent total revenue share.

Additional highlights of the report include for Q1’07:
IBM number one in branded tape automation, with 31 percent total revenue share;
IBM number one in enterprise tape drives, with 63 percent total revenue share;
IBM number one in enterprise tape automation, with 67 percent total revenue share, and;
IBM number one in total branded tape in the following key countries - Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, UK, and the United States.
