The advanced 3D digital cluster technologies were developed at NVIDIA's UI Composer Studio, which specializes in advanced Human-Machine Interface (HMI) design leveraging NVIDIA's pre-production automotive SOC (system-on-chip) mobile application processor and GPU solutions. icon incar provided the concept, visual design, graphics coding, integration, testing and final production for the digital clusters, which are available now to automobile manufacturers.
"NVIDIA's expertise in advanced 3D rendering was integral to the development of our dynamic, high-performance digital cluster solution," said Florian Gulden, managing director of icon incar. "This collaboration allows us to offer automobile manufacturers the ability to implement the first 3D dashboard design."
"As renowned experts in automotive HMI design, icon incar was the perfect development partner for this cluster proof-of-concept Their design successfully illustrates both the power and flexibility of the UI Composer Studio tool, and the incredible performance and visual quality of NVIDIA's automotive GPU and SOC solutions," said Phil Atkin, director of strategic marketing, automotive for NVIDIA.
icon incar's design vision and automotive industry expertise has been instrumental in creating interface concepts and mobile designs for automobile OEMs. Most recently, icon incar elevated the "connectivity-feature" of Audi's concept car A1 project quattro by creating a mobile phone that also served as a music and video player, an address database and an entry tool for navigation. icon incar developed the user interface and software package for the device, which also functions as an access authorization system, making a traditional car key unnecessary.
