"Recent upheavals related to antigovernment Gezi Park protests have posed a threat to political stability and had a negative effect on consumer confidence," said Asli Demir Kockal, a senior analyst at IDC. "Additionally, the portable PC market has been negatively impacted by shifting focus to media tablets on both the supply and demand sides. However, innovative form factors such as ultraslim notebooks and convertible notebooks boosted the performance of the portable PC market, particularly in revenue terms."
HP ranked as the leading desktop PC vendor in Turkey in Q2 2013, capturing the largest market share with 19.8%, followed by local vendors Casper and Exper. On the portable PC market, Asus kept its top position from last quarter, with 21.0% market share, followed by Samsung and Casper.
