„Digital World“-Testsieger ist der Dell 2407 WFP für rund 800 Euro. Der 24-Zoll-Monitor mit 1.920 x 1.200 Bildpunkten überzeugt durch seine erstklassige Bildqualität am PC, analoge Signale werden sowohl bei Halbbild- als auch Vollbild-Zuspielung gut umgesetzt. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt des Dell ist sein relativ hoher Kontrast bei durchschnittlicher Helligkeit. Zum Ausstattungsumfang zählen S-Video-, Composite- und Component-Anschlüsse, ein USB-Hub sowie ein Speicherkartenlesegerät. Kritik muss der 2407 WFP bei der Bedienung hinnehmen: Zwar liegen die Knöpfe des Monitors griffgünstig, doch die Belegung mit Funktionen passt nicht optimal zur Navigation in den Menüs.
Den zweiten Platz im „Digital World“-Test belegt der BenQ FP241W, der für etwa 900 Euro im Handel erhältlich ist. Der 24-Zöller mit 1.920 x 1.200 Bildpunkten bietet eine üppige Ausstattung, zu der neben einer HDMI-Schnittstelle auch eine DVI-Buchse sowie ein USB-Hub gehören. Jedoch sollte BenQ nach Meinung von „Digital World“ die Bedienung des Gerätes überarbeiten, denn das Menüsystem reagiert äußerst langsam.
Wer sich auch mit einer Bildschirmdiagonale von 20 Zoll zufrieden gibt und überdies seinen Geldbeutel schonen will, ist mit dem Samsung Syncmaster 215TW für circa 500 Euro gut bedient. Zwar eignet sich der „Digital World“-Kauftipp aufgrund seiner Größe nur bedingt für den Video-Einsatz, aber der preiswerteste Monitor im Testumfeld besticht durch eine hervorragende Bildqualität bei einer Auflösung von 1.680 x 1.050 Pixeln. Insbesondere die sehr niedrige Blickwinkelabhängigkeit ermöglicht in Kombination mit der etwas kleineren Bildfläche eine exzellente Darstellung digitaler Inhalte.
