The Future of Precision – Latest innovations in automatic cable measurement and sample preparation

iiM AG, a leading manufacturer of measurement technology solutions in the field of geometry measurement of cable insulations with its brands VisioCablePro® and VisioTubePro®, presents its latest product innovations for sample preparation and measurement technology for the cable, wire and hose industry at this year's wire&tube 2024 trade fair in Düsseldorf.

With pride, the VisioCablePro® team introduces two new highlights at the wire&tube this year: firstly, the optimized cable measuring device VCPLab for highly precise laboratory measurements, and secondly, the new powerful sample cutting device ORC VC100 (VisioCutter100) – the successor to the proven ORC80.

The VisioCutter100 sets new technology standards in precise cutting of cable and hose samples. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, it stands out with improved engine performance and superior cutting quality. The powerful successor to the well-known ORC80 is designed to increase productivity and meet the requirements of highly precise measurement tasks through very accurate sample preparation. It easily cuts multiple materials including PE/XLPE and sectors.

Special features of the VisioCutter100 including a new designed user interface, a reusable (and therefore more cost-effective) circular blade, and an ergonomic design that significantly enhances the user comfort during operation. In addition, the VC100 produces exceptionally high cutting quality, making it the optimal choice for cable manufacturers and testing institutes with the highest quality standards worldwide.

In parallel, VisioCablePro® has also further developed and optimized the cable measuring device VCPLab. With the new version of the VCPLab, it becomes even easier for customers to measure their cable samples with the highest precision in the shortest possible time. Highlights include an enlarged measuring range of up to 48mm (1.89 inches), an optimized housing, a new high-performance illumination from the in-house brand LUMIMAX®, as well as high-resolution modern optics and sensors.

The VCPLab is, of course, compatible with the new measurement software VELOX. This user-friendly measurement software features standard-compliant analysis tools and optimizes the evaluation of measurement data to further increase efficiency.
